The walk from the London Eye to the Tate Modern, along the South Bank, has to be one of my favourites in London; particularly the view from the Tate over the Millennium Bridge to St Paul’s Cathedral.
Saturday was cold, damp and grey but a ‘flight’ on the London Eye lifted our spirits and a warming lunch in the Tate’s magnificent 7th floor restaurant was just perfect.
This was taken on the North side of the Millennium Bridge and after many attempts to ‘brighten’ the shot up, I’ve gone with a more atmospheric photo!
Gruyere & Aliens
The above was taken on my recent trip back to Switzerland over Christmas. Gruyere is of course famous for it’s cheese and they do a mean fondue. But, did you know it’s also the home of H.R. Giger, the Swiss surrealist who worked on the Alien films? A rather odd combination, I admit!
Hampstead Heath
Whenever there is news of snow in London, intrepid reporters are sent to Parliament Hill on Hampstead Heath to capture the obligatory photo of children sledding.
There were plenty of sledding (and crying) children yesterday and the snow was a good 2″ thick with a fresh coating of powder. But the prize goes to the gentleman walking off the Heath with his ‘ski du fond’ equipment…that’s dedication.
Switzerland: Always awe-inspiring
Despite having lived in Geneva for a number of years, I am still blown away by how awe-inspiring most of the views are. Back in Nyon for Christmas with family, we took a drive up into the Jura above Lac Leman, and this was the view.
Not the best photo, not the best conditions, but if still takes my breath away!
Her Morning Elegance
This has been around a while but it’s still incredible….such a wonderful concept.

A quick post to list the links to my two Flickr accounts:
